Kirsty Wiseman's Wednesday Night Crop 201010

I enjoyed another live crop with Kirsty and the gang and completed this Layout in super quick time but I was helped enormously by having this great photo I was given from Joshua's Mum who is now on a photographic course. She has only recently started the course so I am hoping I will get lots of great photos to scrap with as the year progresses.

I still can't get good photos of my work but I'm working on a solution.

I followed the sketch that we were given and used the limited papers I have so don't be surprised if you recognise papers and elements from previous work. The base card was Bazzill basic, layered with BasicGrey Basics. The patterned papers,tag and car embellishment are October Afternoon. I cut the title with a Provo Craft die.Otherthan a few hand drawn squiggles I think that is it except to tell you that monkey's name is HERE-HE-IS, named as you might have guessed by Josh - Awww ain't that cute :-)

Kirsty Wisemans Wednesday Night Crop 06.10.10

I had another great time at Kirsty's live crop last night and here is the Layout I did following her sketch :

The base card is a shade of green from the Bazzill Basics Paper range and I chose that colour because I thought it would reflect the natural colours in the photos. The other papers and elements are mainly from October Afternoon - Sweater Weather which I had left over from a mini project I have shown in the past. The photo frames are my new purchase and they are the Spellbinders Frameabilities Classic Frames Die.

My photo of the finished work isn't brilliant and I am still struggling to get good pictures so if anyone wants to pass on their Tips please feel free to do so. I also wanted to mention the 2 photos of Henry and Hamlet. They were part of our family for many years - great characters and great companions and both sadly missed - RIP H&H x

Kirsty Wisemans Wednesday Night Crop 29.09.10

Better late than never !!!
I took part in Kirsty's Live Cyber Crop again last Wednesday and although I thoroughly enjoy taking part and reading the comments, my mind was in another place and I just couldn't finish my version of the layout until today.This is the sketch we were asked to follow but as always there were other options. I used the sketch.


I apologise for using similar papers to the last one but (a) I was using photos from the same photo shoot and (b) I actually don't have a lot of 12x12 scrapbook paper so my choice is limited.

Because I wasn't sure if the heart gems were a good idea for a LO for the boys I also took a photo with less gems.
As the papers are quite dark I think the extra gems 'lift' the design and add additional sparkle. What do you think ?

The papers are from the Prima Aurora Collection,the blue ribbon is also Prima from the Whisper Collection,the brown scalloped trim is suede and came from an old pair of curtains and the stars and gems are from my stash. I made the title from my new Tim Holtz Vintage Market Die and the tags from a Woodware Tag Punch.

Kirsty Wisemans Wednesday Night Crop 22.09.10

I thoroughly enjoyed another of Kirsty's Cyber Crop's last night. I haven't as yet logged into the Chat Room during the 2 hour session because I find it more relaxing just to get on with it myself as there is no pressure - if I don't do it then it doesn't matter to anyone except me and anyway, although the chat is hilarious at times I definitely wouldn't get it done in the time, as I can't chat and create at the same time. lol !

Here is the Sketch Kirsty asked us to follow but there were other options.


As usual you can't really prepare in advance because we don't get the sketch until just before the crop begins so I used what I had and at one point I was scrambling about looking in boxes for bits and bobs to complete my LO. Phew !! It was a close call but I got there in the end.

Kirsty Wisemans Wednesday Night Crop

I have been struggling with my scrapbooking mojo for a while, especially since the very talented Debbie stopped doing her workshops at the Scrapbook Shop so I was both excited and apprehensive when I was invited to join the equally talented Kirsty Wiseman's Wednesday Cyber Crop live on ustream.
She gave us a sketch with 3 options and we had 2 hours to make our layout and upload the result.
Although, I accepted the invitation I didn't log into the Chat and I think this helped me to relax. Kirsty encouraged us to do our own thing and I threw my worries away and just grabbed what I had and 'went for it' !!
Here is the result :
Do you recognise the flower ? Yes, it is one of the flowers I won from Kirsty's flower giveaway. I didn't plan to use it but it fitted so well with the colours I used and the sketch we were given - so that was a lucky break for me.
It was difficult taking a photo of the finished LO because the light was so poor, so this morning I have taken a few more although they are not much better. I must rethink how I take my photos.

Have you noticed that I couldn't resist adding butterflies to the lace canopy ?
